How to submit a claim
Follow these steps to submit your VW EA189 Diesel Settlement claim online.
To submit a claim, you must register an account using the personalised QR code or link that was sent to you via email, SMS, WhatsApp, or Telegram. If you have not received your verification link or QR code, please email support@spotsettlements.co.za to request that it be sent to you.
Step-by-step

1Identify yourselfEnter your South African ID or passport number (if non-South African), or company registration number (if the vehicle was owned by a company).

2Check & correct your detailsReview the pre-populated information and correct anything that’s wrong before continuing.

3Upload supporting documentsSee the Supporting documents section below to know exactly what to provide.

4Choose how to be paidSelect bank deposit or eWallet. Requirements differ slightly (details below).

5Review & submitConfirm everything is correct, then submit your claim before 30 March 2026.

6Track your claimYou’ll get an on-screen confirmation and a follow-up message with your claim number. You can check status anytime on the My Claim page.
Supporting documents
- Certified copy of your SA ID / passport (or company registration certificate), and
- Bank confirmation letter (if choosing a bank deposit).
Prefer paper?
Online is fastest, but you may submit by post or hand-delivery. Include:
- Bank confirmation letter, and
- Certified ID or company registration certificate if you want eWallet payment or your bank isn’t in the list below, and
- The completed Claim Form (download from the Documents page).

Get a bank confirmation letter
Most banks let you download a letter in their app or internet banking. If not available, visit a branch.
