Please note that the deadline for the submission of claims expired on 30 March 2026, and no late claims can be accepted. The High Court of South Africa, Gauteng Division, Johannesburg, has scheduled the settlement approval hearing for 27 October 2026. The proposed Settlement remains subject to approval by the High Court, and accordingly, no payments can be made to eligible claimants unless and until such approval has been granted. Claimants are encouraged to monitor this website for further updates regarding the progress of the Settlement and any subsequent payment process.

Tree uit die Skikking
As u kies om uit te tree, sal u nie deur die Skikking gebind wees nie (indien goedgekeur) en u sal geen Skikkingbetaling ontvang nie. U kan ook nie teen die Skikking beswaar maak nie omdat dit dan nie meer op u van toepassing is nie.
Uittrede-sperdatum
15 Maart 2026
U versoek moet teen hierdie datum gestuur word.Belangrik: As u uittree, sal u geen Skikkingbetaling ontvang nie. U behou enige moontlike regseise in u eie hoedanigheid (onderhewig aan verjaringsreëls en ander oorwegings ingevolge Suid-Afrikaanse reg).
Indien u nie uittree nie, kan u steeds ’n eis vir Skikkingbetaling indien en, indien die Hof die Skikking goedkeur, sal u aan die bepalings daarvan gebonde wees.
Hoe om uit te tree
Om uself (“opt out”) van die Skikkingklas uit te sluit, moet u ’n skriftelike uittredeversoek persoonlik onderteken en stuur wat die volgende verklaar:
“I wish to exclude myself from the Settlement Class in the VW Diesel Emissions Class Action Settlement in JAN LOUIS GROBBELAAR & 4 OTHERS v. VOLKSWAGEN SOUTH AFRICA (PTY) LTD & 17 OTHERS (33802/18).”
U moet die brief self onderteken; niemand anders (insluitend ’n prokureur) mag namens u teken nie. Moenie elektroniese handtekeninge gebruik nie (bv. DocuSign/Adobe Sign).
U brief moet insluit
- U volle naam
- U fisiese adres
- U telefoonnommer
- Die voertuig se VIN (gekoppel aan u eis)
- ’n Verklaring of u die voertuig besit/het besit of huur/gehuur het, insluitend begin- en einddatums (indien van toepassing)
Stuur voor die sperdatum
U skriftelike versoek moet teen 15 Maart 2026 gestuur word.
